El alda del delantal
El Alda del Delantal, by Maria Jesús Ruesca, is a collection of traditional recipes from Aguarón (Zaragoza), transcribed in the original language of those who first wrote them down. Each recipe is accompanied by historical insights, offering a glimpse into the origins, stories, and people behind the dishes. This book is a celebration of Aragonese culinary heritage, preserving the traditions and flavors of the past.
Working on this project with my mother made it a truly special, shared experience. I was responsible for the photography, as well as the book’s design and layout. From concept to print, my goal was to create a book that stayed true to the past while being appealing to readers of all ages. Through the images and the design, I aimed to bring the recipes to life visually, blending tradition with a modern touch, and making them as engaging as they are authentic.
The project has continued beyond the pages through social media, on Facebook and Instagram @elaldadeldelantal.
Ecuador
This book tries to capture the vibrant landscapes and rich culture of Ecuador. Photographed using a Hasselblad XPan, which allows to take panoramic film pictures. I love the creative opportunities of wide, cinematic frames, and I love the feeling of using that camera. The film used is Kodak Portra 400, known for its vivid but natural colors. The book format also explores the possibilities and limitations of translating the panoramic images into a fixed format paper. All in all, I aimed to highlight the country’s diverse beauty—from its lush landscapes to bustling markets and lively towns. Each image seeks to portray the soul of Ecuador through its colors, light, and textures, offering a glimpse into this incredible country and its people.
